Samara Phillips is the assistant manager at Harmony School of Dance, working along side Charissa Willson both within the studio and beyond. Samara manages the social media and website for Harmony School of Dance & Music, in addition to assisting with the various ballet classes and summer camp programs throughout the year. Samara will be on maternity leave for the 2016/2017 school year, but looks forward to visiting!
As sisters, Charissa and Samara have enjoyed working together for many years, sharing passions for dance, music, and education. In addition to her work at Harmony, Samara teaches English at an independent private high schools in Toronto in addition to tutoring students completing their post secondary education at the University of Toronto. She is also a yoga enthusiast, and the Canadian distributor of Three Minute Egg Yoga Products.
Samara has earned degrees in both Sociology and Education from York University, and together with Charissa, continues to take vocal training classes year round. As music, movement, and singing are integral at Harmony, Charissa and Samara strive to sing with correct pitch, incorporating musical harmonies in every class. Samara’s background in dance allows her to keep up with Charissa’s artistic repertoire, providing students with individual attention and feedback. Samara has received training in ballet, jazz, and modern dance, studying at the National Ballet School of Canada and Academy of Ballet and Jazz with Nadia Veselova Tencer.
